strong

Enumeration of probability distribution types supported in SedSat3.

Defines the statistical distributions available for modeling uncertainty in tracer concentrations, parameter priors, and observational errors.

Enumerator
normal 

Normal (Gaussian) distribution: p(x) = N(μ, σ²)

lognormal 

Lognormal distribution: ln(x) ~ N(μ, σ²), for strictly positive variables.

dirichlet 

Dirichlet distribution (treated as uniform on simplex in current implementation)

none 

No distribution assigned (uninitialized state)

uniform 

Uniform distribution on [0,1].

Controls how mean/variance are calculated from a Distribution object:

  • direct: Use empirical statistics from original data (mean_val, std_val)
  • based_on_fitted_distribution: Calculate from distribution parameters
